Pah homestead is hidden away in the suburb of Hillsborough, surrounded by lush gardens and lawns. Last Saturday night, this historic Art centre was home to Nadia Reid’s majestic album release show.

Surrounded by walls smattered with works from some of the coolest visual artists around, one of New Zealand’s most tender sounding musician performed underneath a grand chandelier. It all felt so majestic!

Nadia and her band have the power of bringing so much emotion out of me, through their stage presence and the soft, gentle voice of Nadia. The expressions and emotions that were upon Nadia's face made me feel that the story was much more and deeper. She was ultimately in the song. The whole performance was an emotional experience, enhanced by the location, the intimacy of the show, the beautiful lighting; it was all part of this experience, and it was captivating.

No less than 48 hours before her show Nadia had released her third studio album, Out of My Province. The album feels like self refection and communication with a loved one. Love songs during the harder times, the effects of growing and changing. The movement of life within our lives. These feelings and thoughts were rich as I watched the performance of this new album.

The Ōtepoti artiest was dressed head to toe in the most amazing dark green valet suit by Anna Cordell.
